The trashiest electronic channel on RUclips. We test and use affordable electronic soldering equipment and tools to build, teardown, modify (and sometimes destroy) random electronic stuff.
A British TV licence is NOT required to view my videos or almost every other video on RUclips.
Many of the builds and projects featured here operate at full mains voltage and carry a high risk of shock and fire. As such they're really intended for either entertainment value or for those who do similar stuff.

Solar "MPPT" lithium cell charge module
I started off feeling quite enthusiastic about this new and interesting integrated circuit. But after a bit of exploration I'm not sure it's any better than the classic TP4056 type chip.
The promise of adjustable charge voltage threshold was dashed when it turned out you can only adjust it upwards. Especially when the block diagram hints at a more versatile option.
It's notable that it has much lower tolerance of overvoltage on the solar panel input (6V) than the classic TP4056 (8V).

Without full metallurgy tests it's hard to say exactly what alloy this electrical connector is made of. Note that if this unit is plugged into a USB power supply while batteries are fitted, there is a risk of non rechargeable cells exploding. YAY! It's an 80 Amp slow blow fuse.
Remember, the cobalt used in these batteries was mined by a 7 year old child under dangerous conditions at gunpoint in africa then mixed into the global supply by corporations that dont care about human suffering...
When you challenged us to look at the board, I stopped it and looked. I saw the R11 pins with no resistor between them. You didn't mention in the video what it was, or rather what it would do if a resistor was put in that spot. Why is the resistor missing? And why do they even have a spot like that on the board if they're not using it with a component?
Guessing those batteries were zinc-air 1.4 volt. They have a vent under a sticker to allow air inside. I'm assuming, as the electrolyte evaporates, it vents out, giving pressure.
It was sizzling... And not in a good way. LOL
Yes i had added day / night relay to my garden lights it turns on automatically during low light n off during morning time ....n they are working well ...i was so amazed that these tiny modules can make lot of difference n so eazy to install

Yes. But it has to be generated locally in the stratosphere.
Don't charge your cells to 4.3V unless they're designed for it. That's not a safe voltage for standard 4.2V as they have an absolute max safe voltage of 4.25V. And there is no extra capacity to be gained anyway, because the battery will quickly normalize to 4.2V and turn the excess energy into heat. Some batts are designed for 4.3V, you see them a lot in smartphones for no reason, but it isn't the norm. Thought I needed to mention that for anyone not aware.

To charge the battery to say 4v, maybe add a pull-up resistor from the input to FB. Then add a schottky diode with 0.2v drop to BAT.
I disconnected the rubber hose between the pump and the collector tray at the top and stuck it down the vertical pipe for the waste water from the washing machine. Now the water goes straight down the drain instead of into the tray and saves me having to empty it.
